Christmas 2011

We were able to enjoy Christmas in California with both Matt's Family as well as mine this year. It was great to see everyone & super neat to see how excited Enzo was to see all his cousins, aunts, uncles & grandparents. Even though Enzo was only 8.5 months old he loved Christmas or at least the wrapping paper. We ended up having 4 different Christmas' while in California & 1 in Utah (before we left). How about that Enzo was able to enjoy five 1st Christmas'. Each was unique & filled with lots of family and fun.

Christmas #1 @ Home

Matt, Enzo & I exchanged gifts before we headed to California. I did not want to pack gifts,  just to open them on Christmas Day and then repack them. It was a good thing we did this too because we ended up renting a car (or a tin can) since our car was having some work done on it & we didn't want to spend a fortune in gas by driving the truck. Enzo loved helping us open presents.

Christmas #2 @ Poll's

We enjoyed a great night with Matt's Sister Tammy & her family as well as Sara & her family. We ate the best Mexican food, visited & exchanged gifts.

Christmas #3 @ Grandpa Fawcett's
It's a Christmas tradition on my Dad's side for Christmas Eve to be spent at Grandpa Fawcett's house. The cousins exchange gifts and we are able to enjoy each others company. The group was small this year, but it was fun to see everyone that could make it & for Enzo to meet his Great Grandpa Fawcett.

Christmas #4 Fawcett's Christmas Morning

We got up super early on Christmas Morning, lined up from youngest to oldest in the hallway and made our way into the living room where santa left all sorts of goodies. Dad cooked us breakfast which was super yummy. Then we all rushed to get ready for 9am church where we enjoyed a very nice Christmas Program.  Enzo loved finding out what Great Grandma Holman had gotten him (the hippo). He could see the top of it all week and constantly would attack it.

Christmas #5 Poll Family Christmas Afternoon

After church we headed over to Matt's parents house to enjoy a wonderful Christmas Dinner. It was a lot of fun to see the rest of the family & for Enzo to get to see all of his cousins. Enzo enjoyed all the wrapping paper as we unwrapped more gifts. He loved the train that Grandpa & Grandma Poll got him.

Slip & Fall = Twisted Ankle

Right before Christmas I missed a step while coming out of a friends home & twisted my ankle. Thank goodness I had buckled Enzo into his carrier or else it could have been a much worse outcome.  It was a pretty bad sprain which left me unable to walk or carry Enzo so I took up crawling for a few days. Enzo loved it. We had lots of fun playing on the floor & scooting from one place to the next. Here are a few pictures of my ankle.

Grandma Poll

Matt's Mom came to visit her dear friend Nancy Brown in the middle of December. Knowing she was in the same state as us we couldn't wait to see her. We had them over for dinner & loved visiting with both Velda & Nancy. Enzo enjoyed cuddling with Grandma & learned a new song from Nancy. He was a bit surprised by the song (see video below).

Shelli Graduated

On December 9, 2011 we attended the Paul Mitchell Hair School graduation for Shelli. Each of the graduates presented a model that they created an entire look for from hair to makeup to their outfit. Shelli did a great job and had a great looking model. It is hard to believe that she is already done with school & will most likely be going back to California. We have enjoyed having her live with us for the past 15 months & will be very sad to see her move out. Enzo loves spending time with her & gets the biggest smile when he sees her. We were luck to have our parents come into town for Shelli's graduation so Enzo got to spend some special time with Papa & Lola. While they were here we went to Gardner Village, Osmonds Design (mom's favorite store), PF Chang's(Graduation Dinner) & spent lots of time visiting at home.

Christmas Photo Shoot (8 months old)

Enzo has been super fascinated with our Christmas Tree. He loves scooting under it and playing with the decorations that he can reach. Here are a few Christmas pictures of this cute little guy!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Right before Christmas 2010 we bought a very large fake Christmas tree. Since I was pregnant & it took 3 off us just to set it up we decided to not decorate it & just enjoy the beautiful twinkling lights that it came with. Well Christmas 2011 I couldn't wait to decorate it. We had it up by the middle of November & it was nicely decorated a few days later. Matt enjoys pheasant hunting & he had a ton of pheasant tail feathers, so after searching the internet for some inspiration of how to intertwine them into Christmas decor this is what we came up with.

Thanksgiving

We stayed in Utah for Thanksgiving this year. Although we missed our family and friends in California, we had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving Day. The Lundberg's allowed us to join in our their family festivities which were wonderful. The day started off with all the boys & dogs going pheasant hunting. The girls started prepping all the food for the Thanksgiving Feast. By the time the boys returned, it was time to eat. The food was all so great! Enzo loved the fact that he got to try all sorts of new grown up foods as well. He has been enjoying baby food since he was 4 months old, but likes to think he is a big boy & tries to eat everything on Moms plate. We finished the night off watching Christmas Movies.
