Enzo enjoyed another day at a wonderful and fun Splashpad/river. He enjoyed running up and down the river and getting sprayed in the face by the water coming out of the rocks. It was a pretty busy morning there, so after an hour or so in the water we enjoyed lunch and a pina colada flavored snow cone.

Trident Gum
Enzo had some minty fresh diapers this past week. He got a hold of a brand new pack minus 2 sticks of Trident Gum and ate half the pack for breakfast. Not knowing what it would do to him I made my first call to Poison Control to make sure I didn't need to take Enzo to the doctors or anything. Lucky for us all we had to do was change lots and lots of semi-minty diapers. Crazy boy!
SLC Wedding/Dump Fire
This past weekend one of my cousins was married in the SLC Temple. My parents and siblings decided to attend the wedding and visit us. I was super excited as that would mean I would have someone to spend the weekend with since Matt was out of town camping with the YM. I was excited to show them the new City Creek Mall, tour the Utah Valley Parade of Homes with them and take them to a splash pad to play with Enzo as well as attend the wedding and reception. Sadly, my plans were stopped when a fire was started in the hills behind our home by a target shooter. So instead of enjoying a nice, relaxing weekend with us, my family helped me evacuate and find a place to stay for the night. Just what they wanted to do after a 10 + hour car drive. The fire was started Thursday morning and by Friday morning we were told we need to clear out because the fire was heading our way. I am so thankful my parents were in town because without them I am not sure what I would have done with the dogs (I know several neighbors would have been more than happy to help and I am grateful to know that) as I just had our car and there was no way I would have fit 2 large dogs in the backseat with Enzo. We were able to go to the City Creek Mall, drive by some of the parade of Homes houses, get snow cones and ice cream and play at the park and give Enzo his first hair cut even with all the evacuating and fire commotion. I just wish it had been more relaxing of a weekend for our visitors. We are grateful that we were able to return home Saturday morning and that the firefighters were able to keep our neighborhood safe from damage. Hopefully we won't be evacuating for fires anymore this summer. Sunday my parents and siblings headed back to California only to miss the most beautiful sunset we were treated with that evening. Although it was a crazy few days Enzo and I were so glad to spend time with Papa, Lola, Aunt Shelli & Uncle Steve. We missed Grandma Great, Uncle Joe and Aunt Lindsey, Allison & William. Hopefully we will see them sometime this summer.

Happy Father's Day
Enzo and Matt have the cutest Daddy/Son relationship. Enzo just loves his Daddy so much and Matt loves Enzo. It so much fun to watch them interact with each other. They love to wrestle and play soccer with each other. Enzo is glued to Matt's side the minute he walks in the door from work and just wants to do whatever his Daddy is doing. He loves to cuddle with Matt each night. It just melts my heart to see how these two love each other. I pray they will always have this close and loving Daddy/Son relationship.
Last week Matt left for Lake Powell with some of the YM from our ward. When it was time for Enzo to say goodbye to his Daddy he gave him hug after hug after hug. Finally I had to tell Matt he needed to just walk away or Enzo would hug him all day long. It took a few more hugs before Matt got in the truck to drive off. About 30 minutes after we had said goodbye to Matt and the YM in the church parking lot, Enzo started heading to the door trying to open it. He had been playing in the playroom and had seen Matt and the rest of the trucks pull up in front of our house. (They needed some air in a tire on a trailer). Enzo was banging at the back door, when I opened it he ran out to see his Daddy. Again it took about 5 hugs from Enzo for Matt to be able to leave on the trip. Throughout the week that Matt was gone, Enzo would go to our bedroom door and knock looking for "Dada". I would have to explain Daddy was out of town and would be back in a few days, a few hours later we would be searching the bedroom and house for "Dada". Finally, Tuesday rolled around and Matt would be home. Enzo was in his room sleeping and for some reason I had not shut his curtains on his window all the way so he could see out to the driveway. About 3pm I hear Enzo screaming "DADA, DADA, DADA...." I went up to make sure he was okay. He was pointing to the window and sure enough Daddy's truck was out front. Enzo ran to the back door and waited very impatiently for me to open it. We walked outside and as soon as Matt was done backing the boat and trailer in, Enzo gave him the biggest hug ever. He was so happy to see his Daddy. He would not let Matt out of his sight the rest of the night. They cuddled on the couch, played soccer & played with the dogs, before it was finally time for Enzo to go to bed.

Learning and Growing
Enzo has grown and changed so much over the past few months. He has started to talk a lot more and understands majority of what we say to him. He has started to call just about everything he doesn't know "duck" (I know the perfect word to be mistaken for something else). He must think "duck" means "that" or something. Probably our mistake since we made such a big deal about him saying duck and would always go looking's for his ducks. He says several other words including ball, dog, cup, milk, NO & bear and can understand most simple words and one phrase commands we tell him, of course only when he wants to do them though. He has started to understand that when we put his shoes on it means we are going outside or in the car so he gets very excited for shoes and will run to the door. He loves to go outside and play with the dogs or go on adventurous walks and find treasures (aka rocks). He loves water and seriously could live in it if we let him. He enjoys exploring the yard, trees, bushes and finding bugs. He has little to no fear (which scares me) & loves to give us a run for our money. He is a very happy boy who loves to give hugs and kisses, as well as play with friends and toys. He can always make you laugh or smile even when its been a super long or bad day.
Attached to Mr. Bear
At my California baby shower Enzo was given a soft, precious stuffed bear. I was so excited and could not wait for our little guy to cuddle and carry him around. Sadly, the first year of Enzo's life he had no interest in the bear. Bear slept every night in Enzo's crib with him, but Enzo would rarely ever hug him or touch him. I was so sad for the bear and thought what kind of child do I have. Instead of choosing bear to snuggle with, Enzo would choose his hammer or a ball. Well recently Enzo has become very and I mean VERY attached to his bear. (Yippy) I thought that he was never going to be attached to anything since he didn't keep a binky for long, could care less when we switched him from bottles to sipper cups & doesn't have a blanket that he has to have, but bear, BEAR goes with us everywhere. Enzo even tried to take bear into the bath the other night. Instead bear just watched from the counter. Bear is super soft, so it's a great snuggling buddy for Enzo. In the morning Enzo will toss bear over the side of his crib (helping him escape), but will then realize that bear can't get back in the crib without help, so Enzo will start crying and trying to grab bear back through the crib bars. Sadly he can never get bear back and has to wait for Mom or Dad to rescue them both from the bedroom. Enjoy some pictures of Enzo & Bear.

Splish Splash
Last week Kara & Ruby invited Enzo & I to go with them to a splash pad. I was super excited to take Enzo as I knew he would love playing in the water. It was a little windy but not horrible so the kids warmed up by playing on the nearby swings and playground. Enzo was a little dare devil and loved running through all the different water toys. We will have to go again when it is not windy and maybe a tad warmer. On our way home we stopped by a shaved ice place & enjoyed a fun treat. Thanks Kara & Ruby for inviting us.

It was a bit more windy at our house. Yes that is our trampoline & no that is not our backyard. It luckily stopped in our backyard neighbors yard, but it did take out one of their rain gutters on their roof, so Matt is replacing that. Good thing that was all it took out.
A camping we shall go
Since we missed out on camping last year (I refused to go unless I had a trailer, cabin or something similar for Enzo) we have been twice already this year. The first weekend (memorial day) we went with our friends Cory & Jamie. We found a really fun spot up a gorgeous canyon and set up camp. We had planned on staying 3 days 2 nights until it started raining on the 2nd day, so we went on a quick hike, saw the entire valley and then packed up camp and came back to our house to finish out the weekend rain free. Enzo was a muddy mess by the time we got home, but he was loving life & all the dirt and puddles.
The next weekend we went up a different canyon with our friends, The Hobson's. We were lucky to find a double spot that we would all fit in. Enzo & his friend, Ruby, enjoyed looking at all the bugs, plants, pinecones, sticks and of course found the water & mud. Again Enzo was a muddy mess this time by the time we got camp set up. He is all boy & loves making messes. It was a nice relaxing 24 hours in the wilderness. I remember how much I really do enjoy the outdoors & am so grateful that I have a husband and son that love it too. I have a feeling we will be spending lots of time camping this summer.
